Entangled Expressions.

Entangled Expressions is a designed interactive experience that explores what an individual is thinking and feeling in a visual way. This concept is known as Emotional Intelligence. At the start of each session, the user is prompted with questions that are designed to get one thinking about what is going on internally on an emotional level. After those questions, the user can select a visual that they want to interactively manipulate to portray an accurate representation of what they are feeling. The benefits of Emotional Intelligence are profound. This project takes those benefits into account and uses interactive art and technology to cultivate them.

Culture_vate

Getting people to think about they way they think, showing them what aspects of this cultural dimension are responsible for them feeling that way, and presenting with the opposite end of that spectrum, can facilitate great behavior change.

Front/Back

This project explores the idea of Discrete Emotion Theory. This theory states that there are innate emotions and when they are expressed, that emotional recognition is achieved.

Particles of Feeling

We all feel things. Its unavoidable. Here is a collected result of people’s perspective on what their emotions looked like in the form of particles. This project is titled “Particles of Feeling” combing stills, and a recording of the real-time interaction occurring.

Waves of Emotion

This project was reversed engineered. It came into fruition due to the fact that I was trying to represent emotion without using color. Through that experimentation process, I found that to be extraordinarily difficult. That research lead me to “Waves of Emotion”

This visual is a real-time generated gradient of color that the user has full control over to accurately represent their emotions in the form of color that they see fit.

Guttural

Emotion begins within us. Our emotions are a part of our core being. In order to demonstrate that, I created an abstract representation of an anatomical aspect of the human body. I wanted to keep color at a minimum to remind the user that we all share the basis of emotion - that basis being stored deep within us as humans.
